Barcelona has signed US right back, Sergiño Dest, making him the first American football player to play for the Spanish side.
The player, who has a US father and a Dutch mother, has been a USA full international since 2019. Before persuading the chance to be at Barcelona, the 19 year old had to thoroughly consider before settling on this groundbreaking decision.
The full back neede to choose between the Dutch or USA national teams, having played at the U-21 level and underneath, most eminently in the U17 World Cup in India in 2017 when he confronted fellow exciting possibilities, for example, Ferran Torres, Eric García, Phil Foden or Barça B’s Juan Miranda.
