Sha’Carri Richardson Faces The Big Sprinters In The Semifinals..

American track star Sha’Carri Richardson ran a 10.94 to reach the women’s 100-meter semifinals at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Ahead of Saturday’s (August 3) final, the 24-year-old Olympic debutante, the reigning 100-meter world champion, has been widely anticipated to win.

Richardson posted a 10.71 in June, making her the fastest woman up until this point this year. After easily winning her Round One heat at the Stade de France on Friday, August 2, she made it to the semis.

Her overall time of 10.94 was the fourth fastest, behind sprint legend Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and British hopeful Daryll Neita (both 10.92) and Marie-Josée Ta Lou-Smith, who set the pace with a time of 10.87.

Jamaica’s Fraser-Pryce might be one of the sprinters tipped to beat Richardson in Saturday’s women’s 100-meter semi-final.

Paris 2024 Qualifying: Simone Biles Returns With A Spectacular Start

Sha’Carri Richardson is determined to make a huge comeback at the 2024 Olympics after missing out on Tokyo 2020.

It’s interesting that she showed up to this competition without her well-known coloured wigs, but she still has her signature long fingernails.

In the second heat, Julien Alfred, a rival, beat Richardson by just 0.01 seconds, while Great Brittain’s Neita won the third heat with a season-best time of 10.92.

Ta Lou-Smith, 35, of Côte d’Ivoire, who finished fourth in the 100m finals at Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, ran the fastest time overall in the eighth and final heat with a time of 10.87, just 0.05 seconds faster than Fraser-Pryce.
