Shang Juncheng Is Now The First Teenager To Win An ATP Tour Singles

Young Shang Juncheng has become the only second player from China to come out on top in an ATP Tour singles after beating Lorenzo Musetti in the Chengdu Open final on Tuesday September 24.

He is now the first player born in 2005 or later to win an ATP Tour championship in the wake of bringing down Lorenzo Musetti.

The 19-year-old stunned the home crowd by defeating the Wimbledon semifinalist from Italy 7-6 (7/4), 6-1, becoming the only Chinese winner on the ATP Tour alongside Wu Yibing.

Shang is just one set away from his first ATP Tour title.

Shang’s triumph over the top seed makes him the first player born in 2005 to come out on top for an ATP Tour championship.
