Shania Twain Has A Train Named After Her, And It’s Beautiful!

Shania Twain and the train named after her

A train has been named after singer Shania Twain by Switzerland. After winning five Grammy Awards and two World Music Awards, the singer may have clinched this high-tech Swiss train as her final accomplishment.

In honor of Canadian country music star Shania Twain, the brand-new Golden Pass Express train that travels from Montreux on Lake Geneva to Interlaken in central Switzerland has been given the name “Shania Train.”

Twain has been living by Lake Geneva for ten years, and a Montreux Oberland Bernois Railway spokesperson says the Canadian singer is the Shania Train’s godmother.

After the introduction, Shania Twain spoke about her “honor” on Twitter, tweeting:

All aboard the Shania Train to Twain Town.”

The new train, which is the first service on the route that doesn’t stop, has had to get around some big problems. Interestingly, the remarkable brand-new Swiss mountain train has the ability to jump rail tracks.

First, getting on and off can be risky due to the varying heights of the platforms at each station. The new train’s body can now adjust to the platform height by moving up or down 200 millimeters (nearly 8 inches) thanks to trucks underneath each carriage.

Finding a way to allow the train to run along the route’s two distinct track gauges was the engineers’ other major challenge. The train’s wheels can be set to a variety of widths while it is moving, which is a wonderful feature.

Passengers on the route no longer have to change trains twice to enjoy their three-hour journey through the Swiss Alps.

The new train travels along the trade route known as the “Golden Pass,” which has been in use since the Middle Ages. It begins by traveling along the shores of Lake Geneva before entering the Hongrin valley, which is known for its chocolate, cheese, and dairy cows. It comes to an end in Interlaken, a resort town.

The service currently operates once per day in either direction; however, on June 11, it will begin operating four times per day in the other direction.
