Ghanaian media veteran Kwaku Sintim-Misa (KSM) has voiced worries about the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) chances of winning elections in the future.
During a recent appearance on his program, KSM issued a warning against specific party choices and acts that would endanger the party’s prospects of winning back power.
The possibility of former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia being elected as the NPP’s presidential candidate was particularly cautioned against by KSM.
According to him, the people could not be pleased with such a decision, which could hurt the party’s chances in subsequent elections.
He said, President Mahama has started very well, and if his agenda becomes successful, the NPP will not return to power now.
These comments are made in light of the NPP’s recent electoral setback, in which National Democratic Congress (NDC) former president John Mahama defeated NPP candidate Mahamudu Bawumia with 56% of the vote against 41%.

Widespread discontent with the government’s economic performance, notably high inflation and a faltering currency, has been blamed for the NPP’s large loss.
The significance of strategic decision-making inside political parties and the possible long-term effects of leadership selections on their electoral fortunes are underscored by KSM’s observations.
