
Sidig Faroug El Toum has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Africa Prosperity Network (APN), the continent’s premier organization tasked with advancing the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and Africa’s single market by enlisting the private sector for shared ownership of the project. His appointment takes effect on January 1, 2025.
The appointment of El Toum strengthens APN’s resolve to work with all stakeholders to accelerate Africa’s economic transformation through improved collaboration and strategic alliances.

As APN grows its role in promoting intra-African trade and facilitating the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), especially with the upcoming Africa Prosperity Dialogues (APD) in 2025, Sidig Faroug El Toum joins the organization at a pivotal time.
His appointment will solidify APN’s standing as the premier forum for bringing together business executives, legislators, and African leaders in order to promote continental economic integration.
Over the course of his illustrious career, which has lasted more than 20 years, Mr. El Toum has proven to be exceptionally skilled at managing intricate multi-stakeholder programs throughout Africa and organizing high-level diplomatic initiatives.
