BTS Is Ready To Defer Military Service In Korea?

Popular South Korean Boys music Band Group, BTS have made a staggering name for themselves, as apparently the biggest boys band in the world.

Nonetheless, the achievement appears to have been wrecked by South Korea’s obligatory military service.

The truth of the matter is, practically all physically fit men in the country are required to serve in the military for a year and half when they are 28.

That said, on Tuesday December 1, the Korean parliament passed a bill permitting pop stars -, for example, BTS – to defer their service.

Accordingly, the decision will affect the Pop music band – BTS. Beforehand, the law permitted extraordinary exceptions for top artists, athletes, and musicians – for example, the individuals who have won old style music competitions – but not top K-pop stars.

The modified law currently permits exclusions for the individuals who dominate in mainstream society and craftsmanship, as per a notification from the National Assembly of Korea.

The changed law added that the particular measures for the exclusion would be chosen through a presidential order.

The oldest BTS member, Jin, turns 28 on Friday December 4. Had the bill not been passed, he would have needed to enroll before the year’s over. Presently, the law will hold him up for two additional years.

The modification comes not long after BTS’ single “Dynamite,” released in August, topped the US Billboard Hot 100 — making them the first South Korean pop act to debut at No. 1. Last month, the band was nominated for a Grammy Award.
