Special Prosecutor Shielding Ken Ofori-Atta To Safeguard His Position — Lawyer

Kissi Agyebeng || Anokye Frimpong

Anokye Frimpong Esq. has revealed in an interview with Angel FM News on June 2 that, Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng is using former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta as a scapegoat in order to save his job.

After Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta failed to show up for investigations into several corruption accusations, Kissi Agyebeng declared him wanted for the second time on June 2.

Anokye Frimpong stated in the interview that Kissi Agyebeng’s operations are inconsistent. He said the OSP was acting unfairly and that he was rather protecting Ken Ofori-Atta at the expense of Ghanaians.

He went on to say that, after realizing that President Mahama had the power to terminate him, the same OSP who had charged the then-former president Mahama of certain wrongdoings during his last tenure, later declared him innocent of all accusations.

“The OSP’s stance is actually political. Therefore, I am even shocked that President Mahama continues to retain Kissi Agyebeng”.

“In my opinion, Kissi Agyebeng is indirectly protecting Ken Ofori-Atta while also defending his job. Why would you make two declarations when the individual in question is lounging in bed and telling you when he will be ready for questioning?

“Regardless of his condition, Ken Ofori-Atta would have forcibly been returned home to face any accusations in any serious nation, especially when a whole Special Prosecutor had spoken. Agyebeng has never brought charges against anyone since being appointed. This is intriguing”.

The former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta also came under fire from Yaw Anokye Frimpong Esq. for making excuses and traveling overseas for medical care.

He described this action as an insult to Ghanaians.

Ghanaians Are Just Not Prepared To Kick Out Corruption— Special Prosecutor

Regarding the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), it has been actively pursuing Ken Ofori-Atta in connection with multiple corruption and corruption-related investigations. The OSP had previously declared him a wanted person but temporarily removed his name from the wanted list after he assured authorities of his willingness to cooperate.

But when he did not show up for interrogation on June 2, 2025, the OSP could not take him any longer. With no other choice, Ken Ofori-Atta has been placed back on the wanted list and is facing international legal action.
