
Cheryl Priscilla Opoku,Human Capital Business Partner, People and Culture at Stanbic Bank Ghana, has advocated for entrepreneurship supported by passion and drive among young people.
Cheryl was giving a speech at Career Day 2024, which was held at the Confucius Institute on the campus of the University of Ghana by the Career and Counseling Center.
During her address, Ms. Opoku talked about the significance of recognizing and supporting enthusiasm to drive outcome in both personal and professional efforts.
“Passion is what brings a smile to your face and a spring in your step. Life is something other than your vocation; You can always follow your passion and have an impact on the people in your community and surrounding area. These young people need to figure out what they love doing. Our job is to help them find rewarding career paths that combine their strengths with their passions. she expressed.
“At Stanbic, we say Ghana is our home; We fuel her development. We comprehend the essential job HR play in driving public development. We have participated in the “UG Career Fair” on a regular basis for the past five years because we think that these young people have the ability to change the country if they are given the support they need. We are always prepared to assist them in realizing their dreams because they are the nation’s future,” Cheryl Opoku added.
Cheryl Opoku also talked about some of the bank’s efforts to help young entrepreneurs all over the country.
She stated,
“The Stanbic Incubator has been set up as a hub to grow businesses from the stage of ideation.” In terms of advisory services, skill development, mentorship programs, and access to markets and partners, this program gives young people the resources they need to grow their businesses. We are eager to collaborate with young business owners and assist them in expanding their operations.
The Career Day’s theme was “Your Passion.” The occasion saw eminent characters from various fields offer discussions on their different fields to direct the youthful understudies.
