Following the release of a clip from Ye’s notorious music video, “Famous,” Billboard recently encountered a problem with Taylor Swift’s fan base.

Fans of Taylor Swift (Swifties) were incensed by the video, which featured a wax figure of Swift in bed with Ye and other people.

When the music ranking giants revived a moment connected to the two artists’ long-running feud, they received harsh criticism.

The dispute started when Billboard published a video congratulating Swift on becoming the second-greatest pop star of the twenty-first century. On their list, Beyoncé was ranked first, and Ye was ranked seventh.

Unfortunately, Swift’s devoted fan base criticized the video because it featured the contentious Famous clip.

Billboard responded by publicly apologizing to Taylor Swift and her supporters. They acknowledged their error and declared that the clip would no longer be used.

“We are deeply sorry to Taylor Swift and all viewers,” the statement read. Billboard also added, “We sincerely regret the harm caused by this error.”

Even with their apology, Billboard has received more bad press as a result of the incident.

Numerous fans and celebrities have voiced their displeasure with the rankings. Among those who took issue with the list was Justin Bieber’s wife, Hailey Bieber.

Hailey called Billboard a “f—ing joke” in a direct Instagram comment following Bieber’s eighth-place ranking.

The Weeknd, who was on the list as well, actually reportedly voiced his displeasure with Billboard’s selection procedure.

Billboard has come under heavy fire as a result of these grievances plus the Taylor Swift controversy.

However, Billboard’s apology and removal of the clip might help to ease some of the ire.
