President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has offered his most extreme thanks to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II as he gets ready to leave office as the country’s fifth President in the Fourth Republic.
His thanks came on the back of the Otumfuo’s undeterred support and warm reception he gave him during his eight years in Office as the country’s leader.
President Akufo-Addo exploited a meeting with His Highness intentionally to introduce the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the 2024 Presidential Election to express his gratitude.
“I thank you for the good relationship we shared and how well you received me during my tenure. You were of immense help to measure. I will set aside a time to come and show my appreciation.”
President Akufo-Addo on July 9, 2024, presented the NPP’s ticket for the 2024 Official Political decision to Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Castle.
He led a contingent comprised of executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ministers, Members of Parliament and party supporters to the Palace following the endorsement of Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the Running Mate of their flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
Among the delegation were the National Chairman of the party, Stephen Ayensu Ntim, the General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the Chief of Staff of the President, Hon Akosua Fremah Opare and the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the party, Bernard Antwi Boasiako.
President Akufo-Addo will end his tenure on January 7, 2025.
