The 13th African Games Officially Begins Today. Here’s What You Should Know

The 13th Aftican Games is officially booked to begin today Friday March 8, with the opening ceremony falling off at the revamped 10,000 capacity stadium of the University of Ghana. Practically every one of the Heads of State of each of the 53 African members will be present to grace the event.

Some of Ghana’s top music performers including Shatta Wale, King Promise, and a couple of foreign entertainers will make that big appearance to engage the crowd with their fantastic performances.

Aside from this, the presentation of Ghana’s culture and numerous other Ghanaian exhibits will be displayed at the opening ceremony of the sports festival before the numerous watchers. Gate opens at 2:00PM with music performances beginning at 3:00PM.

13th African Games: Get To Know The Participating Countries, Venues, And More

As at the hour of writing this piece, almost all participants from each country have shown up in Ghana and are prepared for the games in Accra. As a matter of fact, a few sporting activities like swimming, Badminton, tennis and a couple of other disciplines have already started.

Accreditation:

North of 1500 journalist applied for accreditations to cover the event, not only in Africa, but across the world. In total 800 have been accredited. 350 journalists in Ghana have their accreditations approved, while the rest have been shared among the rest of the media personnels.

However, after the opening ceremony, organizers might change the prices for the tickets to allow everybody to come to the stadia to partake in the exceptionally anticipated sports festival.
