An annual global competition for college and university students and teachers is the Huawei ICT Competition.

It provides a global platform for competition and exchange, allowing participants to expand their ICT knowledge, enhance their practical skills, and encourage innovation by utilizing the most recent platforms and technologies.

The competition has grown significantly since its inception, with more countries and students participating each year.

It has been listed as a national competition for university students in China, and UNESCO’s Global Skills Academy has named it a key partner and flagship program worldwide.

• Basic Software
• Ascend AI

Ascend AI is currently only available in China. Through written and lab exams, it ranks students according to their theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and teamwork abilities in the ICT fields.

It is necessary for participants to be familiar with relevant technical experiments and theories. Students can begin by combining industry application scenarios with real-world requirements.

They must use AI or combine it with other technologies like cloud computing, IoT, big data, Kunpeng, and HarmonyOS to design fully functional entries and create solutions with social and commercial value.

The Challenge has two tracks: Model Tuning and HPC Multi-Core Tuning, which is currently only available in the Chinese mainland.
