The 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards Was Celebrated In A Unique Style

Actor Fiifi Coleman and Media character AJ Sarpong ensured every single Ghanaian superstar crossed their way when they hosted them on Red Carpet. The venue was at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, June 1, and the celebs had a long list of motivations to celebrate the occasion with organizers of the awards, which has been in presence for a considerable length of time (25 years) now.

All celebs were given a celebrity treatment by Fiifi and AJ. For such an occasion, it required an enthralling personality to keep the crowd alive. Actors and media personalities Chis Attoh and Naa Ashorkor did ‘justice’ to that, as they hosted the world in style, especially Chris Attoh who was a regualr host of this enormous event before retiring to Hollywood.

Performances:

King Promise opened the show with an eye-popping performance, which paved the way for others including highlife artist Kuami Eugene who followed up next after promise’s opener.

Budding rapper Kwasi Amewuga made that big appearance with an energizing act, which got the audience on their feet. Just after that, the FRA band also raised the bar with their well known melody.

As if that was enough, the consistently phenomenal Efya appeared on stage and pulled up the crowd with a thrilling execution, which saw them standing all through her performance. She didn’t leave out anything. In fact, it was an astounding work out.

Kwabena Kwabena’s performance was extraordinary since, it was one that was intended for the celebration of the legendary highlife singer Amakye Dede. The latter was ho with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 25th Anniversary of the GMA, hence Kwabena opened the well- organized series of events for the evergreen highlife star with one of his tunes.

Then came Akwaboah Jnr, who also entered with one more popular tune ‘Sufre Wo Nyame’ by Amakye Dede. Rapper Eno Barony teamed up with Akwaboah on this one. Singer Fameye also got the series together with Amakye’s ‘Iron Boy’, with reggae Dancehall star Epixode ending Amakye’s celebration with ‘Adukro Mu Nsuo’.

Amakye Dede was finally honoured in front of the audience with the Lifetime Achievement Award presented to him by the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) boss Kwasi Agyemang, after which he got the mic and wowed the crowd with various hit tunes. The thunderous applause for Amakye was extraordinary, as everybody rose up to appreciate him as he performed.

Reggae Dancehall star Stonebwoy, who was the Artist Of The Year, rapper Amerado, Gospel singer Nacee, Mr Drew, Amarae, and a few other top artists made the night a significant one with their incredible showcases.
