The Memorial Aldo Rovira award for the best female and male players for the 2021/22 season has been given to Alexia Putellas and Gavi of Barcelona. The two Barça players were chosen by the judges because of how well they performed last season.
At the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, both of them were presented with their prizes. Xavier Puig, the director of women’s football, was there to present Alexia with her award, and Rafael Yuste, the first vice president, was also there to present Gavi with his. Both ceremonies saw the attendance of a number of family members from the Rovira clan.
This means that the award, now in its thirteenth year, goes to Alexia Putellas once more. Gavi follows Pedri, Ter Stegen, and Piqué as previous winners.
