
Singapore Airlines has been at the top of the aviation industry for decades. In the prestigious Skytrax World Airline Awards 2023, it has been named best airline for the fifth time in the 23-year history of the awards.
Just a few weeks after the Singapore flag carrier was named No. 5 in the world by the aviation safety and product rating agency AirlineRatings.com, the announcement was made at a gala on June 20, 2023, at the Air and Space Museum at the Paris Air Show.
Singapore Airlines accomplished great outcomes in a significant number of the award categories, with the feature being acknowledgment of their Top notch lodge as the World’s Best Top of the line.
Between September 2022 and May 2023, the UK-based aviation consultancy carried out independent, self-funded customer surveys on more than 325 airlines worldwide in order to gather the results for this year’s honors.

This year, Qatar Airways, a seven-time winner of Airline of the Year, came in second, followed by ANA All Nippon Airways in Japan in third, Emirates in fourth, and Japan Airlines in fifth.
In business class, Qatar Airways dominated, winning awards for Best Airline in the Middle East, World’s Best Business Class, World’s Best Business Class Seat, World’s Best Business Class Lounge (the Al Mourjan lounge at Hamad International Airport), and World’s Best Business Class Lounge Dining.

ANA received the award for the highest level of hygiene: For the third year in a row, it won the title of World’s Cleanest Airline and the title of World’s Best Airport Services.
The award for the World’s Most Improved Airline went to Kuwait Airways, which recently introduced a complimentary chauffeur service for first and business class passengers. The award for the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline went to AirAsia. Since 2010, it has won the prize annually, so there were no surprises there.

Volotea came out on top in the highly competitive Best Low-Cost Airline in Europe competition, beating Scoot to the title of World’s Best Long-Haul Low-Cost Airline.
In the new World’s Most Family-Friendly Airline category, which considers things like family seating policies, priority boarding, and amenities for children, Air Canada, the world’s most eco-conscious airline, won.
The cabin crew at Garuda Indonesia was named the best in the world, Cathay Pacific was named the best in-flight entertainment, and Bangkok Airways was named the best regional airline once again.
Delta Air Lines was named Best Airline in North America, with the Best Airline Staff Service for the region, while Sun Country Airlines was named Best Low-Cost Airline in North America title for the first time Alaska Airlines was North America’s Best Regional Airline.
