
Five envoys, including four ambassadors and one high commissioner, were commissioned by Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House on Tuesday, November 19, 2024.
The envoys are H. E. Mrs. Matilda Aku Alomatu Osei-Agyeman, the Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to the Republic of Austria, H. E. Mrs. Vivian Kafui Akua Asempapa, Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to the Republic of Senegal, H. E. Mrs. Regina Appiah-Sam, Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to the Kingdom of Spain, H. E. Mr. McArios Akanbeanab Akanbong, Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to the Islamic Republic of Iran and H. E. Dr. Senalor Kwabla Yawlui, High Commissioner of the Republic of Ghana to the Republic of Sierra Leone.
President Akufo-Addo congratulated the new ambassadors on their outstanding performance in their various roles as Ghanaian diplomats and civil servants.
According to him, their nomination is a testament to their unwavering patriotic spirit and their individual professional accomplishments.
The President went on to say that their promotion demonstrates the faith in their ability to carry out their responsibilities during these trying times. He also tasked them with protecting Ghana’s reputation, loyalty, and integrity in the nations where they are accredited.
He stated that Ghana must fortify its friendships and expand its cooperation with all friendly countries. In order to support and further the Ghana beyond aid agenda, the President tasked them with working both bilaterally and multilaterally with their respective host governments.
Nana Akufo-Addo urged them to exercise caution during their term in order to achieve the shared objective of halting the rise in violent extremism, terrorism, armed conflicts, climate change threats, and illegal financial outflows.

The President urged them to use their experience in Ghana’s service to draw in foreign investment and to become powerful ambassadors for Ghana and Ghanaians living abroad.
He also praised the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration for its excellent work in working with the Office of the President to achieve full membership status in the Organization Internationale de la Francophonie and elect Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey as the Commonwealth’s Secretary-General, among other accomplishments within the organization.
H. E. Mrs. Vivian Kafui Aku Asempapa expressed the newly commissioned envoys’ sincere gratitude to the President for putting their faith and confidence in them as representatives of the Republic of Ghana.
She promised him that both bilaterally and on the multilateral level, they would interact and carry out their assigned responsibilities with stellar qualities. She also reaffirmed their commitment to looking into ways to support the transformation of Ghana’s economy and the sociocultural lives of her people.
