The First Female President For Political Science Students Association

Josephine Nti

The Political Science Students Association (POSSA) has made history by electing Miss Josephine Nti, a level 300 student as its first female president in over 60 years.

Miss Nti has expressed her excitement about becoming the association’s first female leader. She shared her favorite Paul J. Meyer quote, which served as her role’s inspiration:

“Whatever you vividly imagine, ardently desire, sincerely believe and enthusiastically act upon… must inevitably come to pass.”

She claimed that the University’s first female Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, was the driving force behind her decision to run for the position.

Miss Nti outlined her policies, including the establishment of POSSA EduFund, incorporating special needs into the association and promoting skill acquisition.

Her top priority is to create a scholarship scheme, which she plans to fund through internal fundraising, reaching out to alumni and engaging influential individuals.

She reiterated her commitment to inclusivity, aiming to ensure that every POSSA member feels a sense of belonging and understands their potential. Her goal is to encourage active participation in all association activities.

With experience as a course representative and other roles at both the high school and the University levels, Miss Nti is confident in her ability to manage the role alongside her academic responsibilities.

Miss Nti wants to leave a legacy befor the end of her tenure.

“My goal is to act boldly, work diligently and inspire other women to recognise and seize opportunities.”

Mr. Prince Adjei, the current president of the association, in a message of congratulations to his successor, praised Miss Nti for her bravery and focus, which enabled her to break the glass ceiling and become the association’s first female president.

He encouraged Miss Nti to continue the excellent work previous presidents have done and ensure that projects such as the Computer Literacy Program, which was initiated during his tenure, can be sustained to benefit students. He also urged her to be responsive to student needs and maintain a listening administration.
