In an interview, a relative said that they were terrified of the situation.
Madonna’s world tour was set to start on July 15 in Vancouver and to most recent seven months. However, the unfortunate incident has put an end to all of her intense training and rehearsal.
In the midst of this, the pop icon’s boyfriend has made his first post on social media when she was taken to the hospital in New York after being found unconscious.
After being rushed to the ICU over the weekend, the 64-year-old singer is believed to be recovering from a “bacterial infection.” Her family has since stated that they were “prepared for the worst.”
Taking to Instagram – two days before Madonna’s hospitalization was affirmed – fighter and boxing trainer Josh Popper, 29, shared a persuasive statement about self-strengthening, but didn’t address his sweetheart directly.
He penned:
Give yourself permission to live a big life. Step into who you were meant to be. Stop playing small. You are meant for greater things.’
‘Thank you to my coach @fftstrong, my family, and the Bredwinners team for being by my side.’
Madonna’s condition was so serious that her manager Guy Oseary said on Wednesday that she had a “serious bacterial infection” and needed time to recover, so she was postponing her tour, which was supposed to start on July 15 in Vancouver.
The Michigan-born artist’s family members had let the media know that they spent a few horrible days uncertain if she was going to be well.
The family member said the shocking collapse was a wake-up call for Madonna, who believes she is ‘invincible’ and has been pushing herself extremely hard to prepare for the tour.
‘For the past couple of days, no one really knew which direction this was going to turn, and her family was preparing for the worst,’ the relative said.
‘That is why it was kept a secret since Saturday. Everyone believed that we may lose her and that has been the reality of the situation.’
Madonna is mother to six children: Lourdes, 26; Rocco, 22; David, 17; Mercy, 17; and 10-year-old twins Stella and Estere.
Madonna has three sisters – Paula, Melanie and Jennifer – and four brothers: Anthony, Martin, Christopher and Mario.
Sources close to the singer said she has been working around the clock to ensure that her tour is perfect, with one revealing that she has been rehearsing six days a week.
The family source said on Wednesday that discussion of her tour is banned from her bedside, because the famously hard-working singer needed to rest.
The 64-year-old’s health scare was shared with the world by her longtime manager Guy Oseary, who revealed on Instagram that Madonna has been forced to postpone her hotly-anticipated 40th anniversary tour as a result of her medical struggles.
Oseary insisted in his post that the singer and mother-of-six is ‘expected to make a full recovery’ and that her ‘health is improving’, but added that she is ‘still under medical care’.
According to Page Six, Madonna – who was due to kick off her 84-date Celebration tour in Vancouver, Canada on July 15 – was ‘discovered on Saturday’, when she was ‘taken to the ICU’ and ‘intubated overnight’.
He wrote on Wednesday afternoon,
“Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection on Saturday, June 24, which led to a several-day stay in the intensive care unit.”
However, he only promised fans that he would share more details as soon as they have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows. He did not reveal when Madonna might be healthy enough to begin the international tour.
Meanwhile, the singer is “out of the intensive care unit and recovering.”
Madonna’s children are yet to publicly comment on their mother’s condition. But Lourdes did share an image of herself posing in a racy corset top on her Instagram Stories just hours before Oseary shared the news about the singer’s medical scare.
