When the wildfires started in Los Angeles earlier this month, actress Meryl Streep was among the numerous celebrities who had to run for their lives.

Abe Streep, the 75-year-old Oscar winner’s nephew, disclosed that the actress had to devise a clever strategy to escape the peril.

When Abe’s aunt Meryl Streep attempted to leave after receiving an evacuation order on January 8, she found that a big tree had fallen in her driveway, blocking her only way out.

In an attempt to escape, she borrowed wire cutters from a neighbor, made a hole the size of a car in the fence she shared with the neighbors across the street, and drove through their yard, Abe said.

Paris Hilton, Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, Leighton Meester, Adam Brody, and Miles Teller are among the other celebrities whose residences were destroyed by the wildfires.
