The brand-new Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park (KNMP) is now open to the general public as of today, July 11.
The Park, which was first opened by the President H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo last week and drew a large crowd, was temporarily shut down to make room for preparations for commercial operations.
After it was announced in an statement signed by the Acting Director of the Kwame Nkrumah Commemoration Park, Mr. Edward Quao on July 7, it has formally been opened.

However, Mr. Edward Quao, issued a statement that was comparable:
“The redeveloped and modernized Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park (KNMP) is officially opened to the General Public from Tuesday 11, 2023. The Park was temporarily closed to allow for preparations towards the Commercial Operations. We wish all visitors a pleasant and enriching experience”.
The office which houses the remaining parts of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and his wife, Fathia Nkrumah is situated at the former polo grounds in Accra, where Ghana’s Independence was declared.
Meanwhile, $3.5 million was spent on the Park’s renovation.
