
Dr. Randy Abbey, a seasoned media personality and sports administrator from Ghana, has been appointed to head the new Black Stars Management Committee.
He was appointed after leaving his position as Managing Director of Ignite Media Group, the parent company of Original TV, Metro TV, and Original FM, on December 31, 2024.
After their dismal 2025 AFCON qualifying campaign, Ghana’s senior football team, the Black Stars, has a newly formed management committee.
Following Ghana’s catastrophic exit from the qualification race, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) disbanded the previous management committee, which was led by GFA Vice President Mark Addo.
Former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah and Dr. Randy Abbey, a member of the GFA Executive Council (EXCO), is one of the new five-member committee. Medeama SC President Moses Armah, FC Samartex President Richard Nsenkyire, and Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association Samuel Aboabire are also part of the team.
GFA Dissolves The Management Committee Of The Black Stars
Stephen Appiah will serve as Vice Chairman and be in charge of Player Relations, while Dr. Randy Abbey will serve as Chairman. Samuel Aboabire and Moses Armah will oversee matchday operations and activities, and Richard Nsenkyire will be in charge of special responsibilities pertaining to the Black Stars.
On March 19, the Black Stars will play Chad in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match.
