President John Mahama has named Dr. Hanna Louisa Bissiw the Administrator of Ghana’s Minerals Development Fund (MDF).

She will be in charge of managing how resources are distributed to mining communities, making sure that funding is distributed effectively and transparently.

Act 912 created the Minerals Development Fund (MDF) in March 2016. The company wants to give mining communities a steady and dependable source of funding for development projects.

Providing financial resources to directly benefit landowners, traditional and local government authorities within mining communities, institutions in charge of Ghana’s mining development, and mining communities themselves is another aspect of its mandate.

After receiving a scholarship to study in Cuba, Dr. Bissiw graduated in 1999 with a degree in veterinary medicine. After she returned to Ghana, she worked in veterinary clinics and took part in projects involving collaboration between Ghana and Cuba.
