Global music whizzes united on the night of Saturday June 6 in London, and set up a Platinum Party at the Palace, as a feature of the celebrations to extol the British Monarch’s 70th commemoration on the high position.
Diana Ross, Nile Rodgers, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Alicia Keys joined British commonly recognized names like Queen, Duran, Sir Rod Stewart and Sir Elton John and others to participate in the show, held at the Buckingham Palace, the Queen’s true London home.
Two decades ago, Queen guitarist Brian May denoted the Golden Jubilee by playing the National Anthem on his guitar from the top of Buckingham Palace. And it was an extremely gorgeous experience at the event.
This time around, Queen with Adam Lambert started off procedures with ‘We Will Rock You’ before an inventory of stars who performed on a night that gave something to everybody.
Highlights of the show included Alicia Keys playing out her huge hits ‘Empire State of Mind’ (with lyrics changed from New York to London) and ‘This Girl Is on Fire’, Duran Duran digging into their treasure chest of hits to perform ‘Notorious’ and ‘Girls on Film’, and Andrea Bocelli brought the crowd to its feet with a stirring ‘Nessun Dorma’.
Indeed, even with Diana Ross topping the bill, ostensibly the greatest star of the night was the light show, for certain astonishing pictures of the Queen projected onto the royal residence dividers and other enlightenments cast by rambles across the London night sky.
Craig David gave an incredible performance right outside the Buckingham Palace for Her Majesty The Queen’s #PlatinumJubilee celebration weekend.
Legendary Andrea Bocelli also sung ‘Nessun Dorma’ for The Queen in front of the thousands of the crowd.
