
For the 2024–2025 season, the UEFA Champions League has adopted a new format. A single league phase, consisting of 36 teams, has taken the place of the previous group stage. Each team plays eight games against various opponents, four of which are played at home and four away.
While teams ranked ninth through twenty-four enter two-leg knockout play-offs to guarantee their spots in the round of sixteen, the top eight teams from this phase go straight to the Round of 16.
The top eight teams and their matchups for the knockout phase play-offs were decided by the league phase’s conclusion on January 29, 2025. The dates of the playoffs were February 11/12 and 18/19.
