The World Gathers To Celebrate Daddy Lumba’s Life On August 2

The Ghanaian creative industry, in collaboration with fans, stakeholders, and cultural organizations worldwide, has officially announced a global vigil in honour of the late legendary highlife musician Daddy Lumba. The vigil is scheduled for Saturday, August 2, 2025, and will take place simultaneously across multiple locations in Ghana and internationally.

This solemn yet celebratory event will serve as a unified tribute to one of Ghana’s most decorated and influential musicians, whose music shaped the cultural identity of several generations. From his early days in the music scene to becoming a household name across the globe, Daddy Lumba (born Charles Kwadwo Fosu) remains a monumental figure in Ghanaian music history.
