
The recent launch of Asamoah Gyan’s ‘LeGyandary’ memoir raised over GH₵340,000 during a closeout of the initial 50 copies of the book.
The book which is about the incredible former Black Stars striker’s career was launched by Ghana’s President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra on Saturday April 30.
The Chief Executive Officer of Special Group of Companies and chairman of the event Mr Ernest Ofori Sarpong, purchased the first copy for GH₵100,000.
The Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Mr Kennedy Agyapong, additionally made a bid of GH₵100,000 to buy the subsequent copy.
The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mr Kurt Okraku also bought his copy of the book for GH₵50,000 during the closeout.

Other noticeable characters, like Freedom Jacob Caesar, Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanteng, Tony Oteng Gyasi, former Minister of Tourism, Chief Executive Officer of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah all bought copies of the auctioned book.
According to Asamoah Gyan, the funds generated from the book launch would be used by his foundation to continue its charity works.
He added that the book tended to various obscure anecdotes about his career which would advise youthful and impending footballers in the country.
