This Is The First Time In America’s Got Talent History, The Golden Buzzer Is About To Go Live

America’s Got Talent is taking a few days break as NBC and Peacock will be getting busy covering the Paris Olympic 2024.

For many weeks, an extraordinary group of hopefuls looking for their huge break and a certified shot at fame took part in America Got Talent season.

The audition rounds for this season came to an end on Tuesday July 23, 2024 with probably the best performances to date. The most recent episode not only brought to a close the auditions for Season 19, but it also made an exciting announcement from host Terry Crews.

With a significant twist that will have an effect on the live shows this year, Terry Crews shocked everyone: For the first time in America Got Talent history, the Golden Buzzer is going to go live.”

When America Got Talent (AGT) returns on August 13, each judge will receive an additional Golden Buzzer. This gives one act a spot in the final round without having to wait for audience votes. This could make the competition more interesting and full of surprises.

Season 19 has already had its fair share of surprises due to the addition of double Golden Buzzers during the audition process. Each judge had two chances to send acts directly to the live shows, but Terry Crews only had one chance to do so.

Simon Cowell chose singer Liv Warfield and drone group Sky Elements, Heidi Klum chose singers Richard Goodall and Pranysqa Mishra, Howie Mandel picked dance group Brent Street and young singer Reid Wilson, Sofia Vergara opted for dance group Legión and comedy duo Schumacher, and Crews’ choice was comedian Learnmore Jonasi.
