
In September 2018, American artist Kanye West verbally changed his name to ‘Ye’ for reasons most popular to him. “Ye” was additionally the title of West’s 2018 album.
But, that was just not enough. Now, Ye has officially applied to finally dispose of his old name- – KANYE.
On Tuesday August 24, the rapper applied to lawfully change his name to “Ye”. He has begun the process to officially be known exclusively by his monosyllabic moniker, “Ye.”
West got this show on the road to legitimately change his name from Kanye Omari West to Ye with no center or last name, as per reports released.
Per the process toward applying for a name change in the California general set of laws, an adjudicator should support West’s application by court order before West can legitimately be known as Ye. This process could take as long as 90 days.
There are no known limitations that could keep West from being called Ye once an adjudicator approves his application. California just necessitates that names be formed from the 26 letters of the English letters in order.
