This Year’s Africa-US Presidential Forum Held In New Jersey

The Second Yearly Africa-US Presidential forum has been held in Hoboken in New Jersey in the USA.

The forum aims to keep Africa at the forefront of technological advancement and to strengthen educational ties between the United States and Africa.

As indicated by the Co-Founder and President of Neko Tech Center of Excellence, H.E. Dr. Princess Asie Ocansey, the Africa-US Presidential forum annually brings together, African Presidents, U.S. government officials, Corporate leaders and dignitaries, to discuss critical issues in strategic workforce training, with a focus on STEM education and AI- focused learning.

The President of Malawi, Dr Lazarus Chakwera— who was one of guests of honors for the event, lauded the Stevens Institute of Technology and the Neko Tech Center of Excellence for showing extraordinary degree of responsibility in advancing educational exchange and joint effort between the US and Africa.

For his tireless efforts to promote education among Malawian and African youth, President Chakwera received a Presidential honorary award.

The forum was a platform designed to give young people in Africa relevant skills in artificial intelligence and science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), which would make them more employable and give them the power to lead the continent’s progress.

The Malawian President further said, he is so happy Malawian students will be admitted at this renowned University to further their studies in various technological skills for the development of their country.

Dr. Nariman Farvardin, President of Stevens Institute of Technology, also gave a speech at the event, stating that the university organized the event in partnership with the Nekotech Centre of Excellence to demonstrate its commitment to fostering technological innovation and educational excellence in order to guarantee a brighter future for Africa’s next generation of innovators and leaders.

This event was also coordinated to strengthen educational ties between Africa and US.

Meanwhile, former Malawian President Dr. Joyce Banda, Sierra Leonean President Julius Maada Bio, and Ghanaian King Tackie Tsuru II were among those honored with Presidential Honorary Awards.

Besides, Malawian woman, Chipiliro Chisao also got an alumni ambassador award.

More than one thousand students from Africa, are expected to benefit from the scholarship at Stevens Institute of Technology through Nekotech Centre of Excellence.
