This Year’s Grand Homowo UK Festival Has Been Launched

This Year’s Homowo UK Festival has been launched. The much-anticipated Grand festival will commemorate the Ga people’s extensive heritage and culture.

The event is scheduled to take place on October 26 at 2:00 p.m. The venue of the event will be at Borough Hall, Royal Hill, London, SE10 8RD.

As a special guest, His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, the Ga Mantse and President of the Ga Traditional Council, will participate in traditional rites, music, and celebrations to honor the Homowo Festival in the Queen’s Land!

The loose translation of homowo is: “Shame On Hunger”. One of the most unusual traditional experiences in Africa is this harvest festival.

It is a celebration of the discovery of grain following a terrible famine that is observed by the GaDangme people of the Greater Accra Region of Ghana.

The Grand Homowo UK Festival is celebrated in the UK for those who are unable to travel to Ghana for the main event for a variety of reasons.

It is authentically African and proudly GaDangme. It started in 2010, based on sporadic previous attempts to host the event.

In an inclusive and family-friendly cultural showcase, the event highlights the UK’s diversity. Grand Homowo UK Festival brings together people from Africa and the UK to fight global hunger caused by poverty.
