Trinidad And Tobago To Make Direct Flights To Ghana

After the commissioning of the Prempeh I International Airport in Kumasi, Trinidad and Tobago aims to make direct flights to Ghana.

The Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Dr Keith Rowley on Sunday, May 12, 2024, announced that plans are far advanced to make direct flights from Trinidad and Tobago to Ghana.

This move is make a lot more grounded union in trade and investment through travel for shared economic benefits.

Presently, no non-stop flight works in one or the other nation, and people who seek to go on the journey in transit through London will get through a 15-hour-journey, while a direct flight will take eight hours.

Speaking at the climax of the 25th Enstoolment Anniversary celebration of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace, he said,

“Let’s not let the Atlantic keep us apart. This will not only provide a bridge between Trinidad and Tobago and Ghana as we join hands, but it will also provide a bridge between the Caribbean Capricorn and the African Continent to increase trade and investment between Africa and the Caribbean.”

“With the opening of the brand new Prempeh I International Airport in Kumasi, we see the first steps of international travel as possibilities between our people, Ghana and the Caribbean and Ghana and the people of Trinidad and Tobago. We’re working on it. I trust when the first flights are available, we will see many of you coming to do business, to vacation or just to explore Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean. Support that trade route.”

Trinidad and Tobago wants Ghana to be its entry point into West Africa.
