Underwood was introduced right after Trump’s speech and swearing-in ceremony, and she opened the event’s stellar musical lineup. The audience reportedly had to wait almost two minutes before she could start her song, though, due to significant technical issues.
Several musical acts were announced for the first events, with Underwood leading the performances. Forecasts indicated that temperatures outside had dropped into the low 20s, forcing the swearing-in ceremony for Trump to be moved indoors to the Rotunda due to a likely arctic blast.
