Twitter To Be The Most Accurate Infosource In The World

CEO of Twitter, Linda Yaccarino

The new CEO of Twitter, Linda Yaccarino, has presented her plans for “Twitter 2.0.”, after succeeding Elon Musk as CEO.

Yaccarino says the organization is “on a mission to become the world’s most accurate real-time information source”.

Twitter has been criticized for its approach to combating disinformation since Musk bought it in 2022.

The company left the EU’s disinformation code and lost its head of trust and safety in the past month.

Ms. Yaccarino echoed Mr. Musk’s goal, which was to transform Twitter into the “global town square,” in a series of tweets that were also sent to employees via email.

“Drive civilisation forward through the unfiltered exchange of information and open dialogue about the things that matter most to us.” she stated, referring to this.

Musk, who self-identifies as a “free speech absolutist,” has criticized Twitter’s content moderation policies, arguing that the platform required to be a genuine platform for free speech.

However, advertisers have left because of his efforts to loosen moderation and reinstate right-wing accounts whose views he shares. According to reports, revenue decreased by 40% in comparison to last year.

According to an expert, Linda Yaccarino “is absolutely someone who can balance out Elon and go toe-to-toe with him as he respects her.”

Mr. Musk, who recently reclaimed the title of the world’s richest person, announced on May 12 that Ms. Yaccarino would succeed him as the chief executive of Twitter in six weeks.

Since purchasing Twitter last year for $44 billion (£35.1 billion), Mr. Musk had been under pressure to find someone to lead the company so that he could concentrate on his other businesses, which include the electric car manufacturer Tesla and the rocket company SpaceX.

Nonetheless, Yaccarino began the job sooner than anticipated, only days after the abdication of the firm’s head of trust and safety.

Ms. Yaccarino is credited with guiding media conglomerate NBCUniversal through technological shifts in the industry.

Linda Yaccarino Takes Over Twitter As The New CEO

She was in charge of launching the company’s ad-supported streaming platform Peacock in 2020 and overhauling the advertising sales business in her previous position.

While Mr. Musk continues to serve as the company’s executive chairman and chief technology officer, Linda Yaccarino is now in charge of Twitter’s business operations, which have been experiencing financial difficulties.

Several people believe Linda has a strong vision for Twitter with a great deal of things that can be convoluted. Additionally, she is aware of the challenges Twitter faces in monetizing the platform, which remains the “golden goose.”
