Two Universities In Ghana Ranked In The Latest Global Ranking

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has been ranked the 12th best in Africa. The University of Ghana, also ranked 29th in the 2022 Global Universities Rankings.

According to GUR’s research performance and ratings by members of the Academic community across the world, KNUST and the University of Ghana were also positioned 587th and 916th, separately in the world.

Over the entire world, the KNUST scored 49.9 and was ranked 484th in Social Sciences and Public Health. The school also got the 277th spot in Clinical Medicine, with a general score of 56.2.

As indicated by The eighth yearly USNews and World Report Global Universities Rankings, University of Ghana additionally got a global score of 41.4.

The University of Ghana performed better compared to KNUST in Social Sciences and Public Health with a general mark of 41.6, making it the 326th best in the world.

In the field of Clinical Medicine, the University of Ghana (UG) came 566th on the list, following right behind its country rival, KNUST.

None of Ghana’s state funded universities made it in the best 10. Meanwhile, other Ghanaian Universities including the University of Cape Coast (UCC), and others didn’t make it in the rankings.

How Important Is Having A Masters Degree?

The University of Cape Coast was recently ranked the number one university in Ghana, the top in West Africa and part of the best five colleges in Africa in the 2022 Times Higher Education yearly rankings.

The eighth yearly USNews and World Report Global Universities Rankings checked out different pointers, for example, global research reputation, regional research reputation, publications, books, conferences and number of publications among the 10% generally referred to.

The USNews clarified their ranking saying:

“Since increasing number of students plan to enrol in universities outside of their own country, the Best Global Universities rankings – which focus specifically on schools’ academic research and reputation overall and not on their separate undergraduate or graduate programs – can help those applicants accurately compare institutions around the world”

Meanwhile, the University of Cape Town in South Africa has been ranked the first and best college in Africa and 109th all around the world.
