UBA Bank Invests In The Next Generation Of Banking Leaders

Through its Graduate Management Acceleration Programme (GMAP), which has so far produced over 3,222 young professionals throughout Africa, United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, Africa’s Global Bank, continues to have a major influence on the development of the continent’s future banking and finance professionals.

Since its launch three years ago, the GMAP has given young graduates training, mentorship, and practical experience in preparation for leadership positions at UBA. The program’s goal is to give entrants the skills and knowledge they need.

Another group of 1,138 successful graduates who were hired by the bank after months of intense training that tested their commitment and fortitude were recently inducted at a ceremony held at the Landmark Event Centre.

Tony Elumelu, the UBA Group Chairman, Oliver Alawuba, the Group Managing Director/CEO, and other members of the Board, Executive Management, teachers, mentors, the graduates’ families, and friends graced the event.

Elumelu, who was thrilled about the recent graduates, emphasized the bank’s commitment to empowering young people in Africa and closing the unemployment gap, which he said is still one of the continent’s biggest problems.

He stated,

“At UBA, we believe that Africa’s transformation is in the hands of young, dynamic, and ambitious professionals such as you. Through GMAP, we are not only shaping future leaders but also reinforcing our commitment to excellence and impact. To our graduands, remember that success is built on hard work, resilience, and a commitment to continuous learning. The world is waiting for you to make your mark.”

The event signaled the start of a life-changing adventure that aims to influence careers, social contributions, and Africa as a whole. The GMAP demonstrates UBA’s goal of equipping the most talented individuals with the abilities, know-how, and mindset needed to successfully negotiate the constantly changing financial environment.
