The esteemed Graphic Business Tertiary Business Sense Challenge (TBSC) has been won by the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS).
The Greater Accra Region’s tertiary institution has won the competition for the first time. This is the sixth of its kind. The competition took place at Accra’s GNAT Hall.
Peter Emeka Ike, Edwin Entsiey, Jonathan Nii Nai Sowah, and Prince Ascod Bordoh, the most exceptional students in this year’s competition, made up the UGBS team. They showed intelligence, particularly in the theory session when they scored 13 points, well ahead of their rivals KNUST and University of Education, Winneba (UEW).
After 36 of the top tertiary business schools in the country competed fiercely for months, UGBS emerged victorious with 86.8 points, defeating formidable opponents like Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), which finished second with 73.5 points, and reigning champions University of Education Winneba (UEW), which finished third with 72.5 points.
Even though KNUST put up a fierce fight in the fifth round, UGBS held onto their lead and won their first TBSC trophy. UGBS’s early lead demonstrated their capacity to perform well under duress and set the stage for their victory.
“This year, we showed them that we are the best and will dominate going forward. We have decided to incentivise the winning team with scholarships and cash prizes to motivate future contestants”, Prof. Justice Bawole, Dean of UGBS said.
Gold medals, HP laptops, and GHC 20,000 in insurance coverage were among the many gifts given to each member of the victorious team.

The competition, which has two stages—at the zonal and national levels—focuses on topics related to business, including marketing, finance, accounting, and human resources.
The Northern Zone, Middle Zone, Southeast Zone, and Southwest Zone are the four zones that make up the zonal level.
