Rev. Charles Owusu, the former head of monitoring at the Forestry Commission and a political commentator, has vented his frustration on United Television for permitting Nana Asiamah Hanson, also known as Bulldog, to appear on the United Showbiz entertainment program and disparage the name of Jesus Christ.
The Rev. minister expressed his displeasure with Okay FM for permitting Bulldog to call Jesus Christ a fool during his comments on the broadcast in an interview with Kwame Nkrumah Tikese on Wednesday, July 9.
“Why would you let that boy use such vile language about Jesus Christ on such a big program? I am friends with Father Dickson, but why have you guys not apologized to the Christian community after someone disrespected such a holy name?”
Charles Owusu added:
“United Showbiz enjoys giving some individuals the opportunity to disparage preachers without consequence. This has continued for far too long, and now Jesus Christ Himself is the target of mockery. Why? What is happening?
He claimed that he was surprised that no one had apologized up to this point.
“Who is that gentleman? We Christians respect Jesus Christ even if he doesn’t. He did not even offer an apology when he was being pulled to do so on the show. Christians in this country will rebel against this ongoing tendency if it keeps up this way.
Bulldog’s statements about Jesus Christ was made on Saturday July 5, 2025.
Ghana Risks Losing Its Digital Edge—Education Minister Warns
According to Charles Owusu, UTV should immediately address the issue—on their official platforms. However, UTV may be positioning this as a case of individual pundit behavior—asserting Bulldog’s comments were personal opinions and not reflective of the station.
The station might be avoiding a drawn-out controversy, preferring silence over escalating things around sensitive religious matters.
