Ghana’s U-20 national team, the Black Satellites are through to the semi-final of the ongoing WAFU Zone B U-20 Championships.
On Wednesday, October 23, the hosts, Togo, held Ghana to a 1-1 draw.
In the final Group A match at the Stade Municipal in Lome, Ghana defeated host Togo by a score of 1-0 in the first half.
The Black Satellites allowed the Togolese to level the score in the second half after a brief period of relaxation in the first half.
That balancer, nonetheless, was insufficient for the hosts as it gave them just a point, their third in the competition.
Ghana led the group with five points, including two draws and one victory, remaining undefeated so far.
Niger also advanced to the knockout round by defeating Benin in the other group game played concurrently.
Unfortunately, Togo and Benin have been crashed out of the qualifying competition.
With a win, Ghana can qualify for the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
Their next rivals will be known after the Cote d’Ivoire-Nigeria experience on Thursday.
