Who Is Abibata Mahama Zakariah?

All around the globe, numerous women are exceeding expectations in fields in which they find themselves, and one of them is Ghana’s Abibata Shanni Mahama Zakariah. Abibata has for the past number of years gone through all the ranks and file to be a conspicuous character in Ghana.

Abibata Zakariah was born in Yendi and is the daughter of Alhaji Shanni Mahama, who was a former MP for Yendi Constituency and a Deputy Minister for Agriculture in the administration of former Prime Minister of Ghana, K. A. Busia.

The ambitious Abibata went to the University of Ghana where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. She additionally has a Master of Public Policy and Administration degree from the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) of Columbia University in New York City with focus around Economic and Political Development.

Not all that happy with her training, she further went to read banking and was once, the Chief Executive Officer of the Microfinance and Small Loans Center (Masloc), an administration of Ghana division.

As a strategy practitioner, business development planner and a lawmaker, she is a yearning parliamentary contender for Yendi Constituency in the Northern area of Ghana. Abibata has worked with truly trustworthy organizations, including Jospong Group of Companies as a business Development boss.

A portion of her core interest areas are: Project Management, Business Development, Strategy, Public Management and Institutional Analysis, Government Budgeting, Operations Management, Economic Empowerment of Women, International Capital Markets, Business Analysis, Monitoring and Evaluation among others.

She has applied these aptitudes through proceeded with public service, private division and global organizations where she gained a wide-scope of information in the plan and execution of projects and arrangements.

She has broad work experience from the accompanying organizations: Agricultural Development Bank (Accra, Ghana) The Millennium Cities Initiative – MCI in a joint effort with Earth Institute of Columbia University (Accra, Ghana), Consultancy for The Capacity Development Group (UNDP, New York), Merchant Bank Ghana Limited (Accra, Ghana) and Jospong Group of Companies (Accra, Ghana).

She interned with Institute of Economic Affairs (Accra, Ghana), The Regional Bureau for Africa in a joint effort with Earth Institute of Columbia University (UNDP, New York) and did her national service with UNHCR in Accra, Ghana.

Abibata Shanni Mahama Zakariah is married with four children and a member of the ruling government, New Patriotic Party (NPP).
