Nigerian megastar Wizkid has officially been awarded with a BRIT Billion award in the United Kingdom.
This acknowledgment is an award given to artists who have outperformed a billion streams in the United Kingdom.
Wizkid became the first African artist to receive the prestigious award when it was presented to him on July 29, 2023, following his historic performance at the Tottenham Stadium.
He has been steadily rising in the international scene ever since he debuted in 2011. In 2016, he became the first Nigerian artist to reach at the top of the Board Hot 100 through ‘One Dance’; his super collaboration with Drake.
Subsequently, Wizkid released his fourth album ‘Made In Lagos’ which conveyed the raving hit ‘Essence.’ He proceeded to top off the O2 Arena on three continuous dates in what remains a phenomenal accomplishment for an African.
