The Forum of Young Global Leaders selects the world’s most promising leaders under the age of 40 each year. The World Economic Forum has announced the Class of 2023 this year, into this prestigious community of outstanding individuals who are addressing the world’s most pressing problems and driving innovation for positive change across civil society, the arts, culture, government, and business.
Peace Hyde, a media expert from Ghana, has been chosen to join this global community of visionaries who are leading their nations, serving their communities, and launching ground-breaking initiatives that inspire new social change waves.
Peace Hyde is an award-winning producer as well as the West Africa correspondent and head of digital media and partnerships for Forbes Africa. Among her many accomplishments is securing the first ever Netflix Unscripted Original for Africa with the hit reality television series Young, Famous, and African, which has been renewed for multiple seasons.

Her incredible work in journalism has earned her the prestigious Sanlam award for excellence in financial journalism. Additionally, her documentary for Vice News, “Inside Nigeria’s push to end police Brutality,” has won four prestigious film festival awards, including the Los Angeles Film Festival and the UK Top Shorts Film Festival.
“The aim of the forum is to create a proactive multi stakeholder community of the world’s most dynamic and innovative leaders to inform decision making and mobilise transformation. This year’s class is no different as it is packed with brilliant minds and passionate leaders from business, civil society and academia” said Wadia Ait Hamza, head of the forum of Young Global Leaders, who announced this.
Peace Hyde, an education activist, is also the founder of the education non-profit Aim Higher Africa, which is an initiative designed to empower impoverished children and young adults with skills and tools to help them create long-lasting and sustainable opportunities that will transform their communities for the better.
This year’s class is no exception because it is packed with brilliant minds and passionate leaders from business, civil society, and academia. Skills training and entrepreneurship programs in Ghana and Nigeria are supported by the charity.
Peace was also selected as an Obama Foundation leader, an initiative started by US president Barrack Obama that chose only 20 leaders from a group of 35,000 African leaders who are making an impact on Africa. This was one of Peace’s many accomplishments.
The Class of 2023 will meet for the next three years to brainstorm novel solutions and advocate for ways to scale up and accelerate one another’s impact. From Harvard Business School to Davos, the Young Global Leaders will work with a variety of stakeholders to find solutions to some of the most pressing problems in the world.
