Despite the challenging journey, Zanyiwe Asare has remained steadfast in her quest to accomplish her objectives.
Experience:
At the moment, Asare serves as the Country Managing Director of Yango, a global technology firm with operations in Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.
However, before assuming this position in December of last year, she had a number of experiences working for several organizations. Prior to being promoted to Country MD, she served as Yango Africa’s Vice President and Head of Public Policy.
Zanyiwe Asare was the Director of ZANTHA in Johannesburg, South Africa, in April 2011.
In 2019, she also had a great experience as the Director of Digitally Legal, a digital and technology law advisory firm in South Africa, where she provided advice on data protection literacy, regulatory compliance, organizational cyber security, and the creation and implementation of policy frameworks.
Beginning in 2020, Zanyiwe Asare served on the ICASA Consumer Advisory Panel for four years.
In 2021, she oversaw high-level meetings and boards while serving as the Chairperson of the South African Internet Governance Forum for six months.
She has gained a great deal of experience in every area from her work with many other organizations.
At the nexus of policy, technology, and Africa’s changing terrain, Zanyiwe is an enthusiastic leader. Since 2023, she has spearheaded and advanced private-public strategy and collaboration with relevant government agencies.
Additionally, she has led the development of comprehensive public policy plans that complement Africa’s various regulatory systems. She has unquestionably demonstrated success in negotiating complex political environments to further business objectives and support the digital transformation of the area.
She has also established and preserved solid connections with thought leaders, NGOs, and legislators. Furthermore, Zanyiwe has consistently argued for the development of responsible and progressive public policies that will influence the future of IT services and consulting.

In order to bridge the digital divide, encourage inclusive growth, and shape and nurture innovation through public policy, she has worked with government organizations, business stakeholders, and advocacy groups. Zanyiwe is committed to promoting discussion on how technology may help with Africa’s particular problems, such as the expansion of IT services on the continent.
