Gov’t To Launch Easy Fee Payment System And 24-Hour Economy Initiative

The government of Ghana has declared that it will officially introduce two significant policies tomorrow July 2, 2025: the 24-Hour Economy Initiative and the “No-Stress Fees” policy for students.

By guaranteeing that fees at public tertiary institutions are arranged in a more flexible and affordable manner, the “No-Stress Fees” policy seeks to lessen the financial strain on parents and students. Options including delayed payments, scholarship help, and government-backed financial aid for deserving students are anticipated to be included.

The second important policy, the 24-Hour Economy Initiative, will encourage enterprises, government services, and industries to work in shifts throughout the day and night in order to increase productivity around the clock.

According to its chairman, Goosie Tanoh, the initiative will cost $4 billion. The idea is being marketed as a job-creation plan that might boost Ghana’s competitiveness in a rapidly evolving global economy and drastically lower unemployment.

President John Dramani Mahama is anticipated to formally launch the two initiatives in the next few days as part of the government’s larger 2024 campaign promise.
