Sam George Takes On Critics In An Interesting Exchanges Over Ablekuma Chaos

It all began on July 11, 2025, when violence broke out at Ablekuma North Constituency during the voting process. The rerun followed the High Court’s injunction for the Electoral Commission to rectify issues with the December 2024 results. Consequently, some polling stations were forced to follow the directive.

Unfortunately, two polling stations had violent outbursts. Former Fisheries Minister Mavis Hawa Koomson and the NPP candidate’s team were attacked in Odorkor, and a journalist was assaulted (by a police officer) at the Church of Pentecost North Odorkor.

Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was among the many concerned individuals who spoke out against the violence that erupted in Ablekuma North.

The former Veep urged President Mahama to take swift action to put an end to the mayhem.

“I call on the President to take action”, he wrote on X.

For obvious reasons, Communication and Digital Technology Minister Sam Dzata George responded to this tweet by requesting that the former vice president stop talking.

“Someone should tell Bawumia to shut up. What did he say about Ayawaso West Wuogon in 2019?”

Sam George believes the former Veep should not complain because, he experienced the same scenario in 2019 but the NPP government did nothing in response to his complaint.

As time went on, Sam George started to come under fire for his unnecessary tirades against X users. Additionally, he shared a video of his 2019 ordeal on the platform with the following caption:

“Dear IGP of the @GhPoliceService and DG of the CID @ciau_pid, I am still waiting for the Police to act on my complaint from Ayawaso West Wuogon.”

“It must be treated as a first come, first served basis. I have patiently waited since 2019 for justice to be served”.

“Let no one who justified the 2019 incident dare try to speak today. You sowed the wind and you have reaped the whirlwind. What was sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander”.

“I have not started yet. This is just the beginning. We would all live in Ghana. One love”.

Netizens began attacking him more for justifying his stance.

Netizens Began Attacking:

“Why post this now? This country has reached a point where u must put an end to petty politics. Are you truly applauding the recent actions at Ablekuma? Just because you were assaulted due to your arrogance, it doesn’t mean that someone else should be subjected to the same fate.”

Sam George Replied: Easy for you to say!.

“A whole minister of communications. C’mon bruv you can do better”.

Sam George replied: Complete bollocks. Was it not Ministers of State who orchestrated the attack on me and innocent citizens? What did you say then. Just shut up because you do not know the pain I carry.

“Those that attacked you were punished and I don’t think we should condone this behavior. Sorry it happened to you sir but we all should come together and stop this act.”

Sam George replied: Punished by who? When? Where? Bryan Acheampong was promoted by Nana Addo. Today he is running for Flagbearer of his party. Where was the punishment?

“The current happenings are totally unfortunate and needs to be investigated. However, I must as well say these are the consequences of injustice or delayed justice. People take the law into their own hands”.

“The situation at Ayawaso West was swept under the carpet or whitewashed. Justice was not served when an MP @samgeorgegh was slapped by supposed men in National Security uniform”.

“Then again the 2020 elections where a number of civilian were killed and maimed”.

“Also, two incidents involving Hawa Koomson herself: one where she fired a gun at polling station and a recent one in her constituency where a Nima resident lost a life”.

“If these incidents received swift justice nobody would there repeat same. It’s a cummulated national shame. Really”.
