On Monday, July 14, 2025, NPP stalwart Sammy Awuku disclosed that he, along with Bryan Acheampong and another party officials, had to personally intervene to prevent NPP supporters from launching a retaliatory attack against NDC-affiliated thugs in Ablekuma North.
According to Awuku, the group of enraged NPP youth were ready to strike back in response to the recent violence but were persuaded to stand down “for the sake of the nation.”
He made this revelation while speaking on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo Morning Show with Kwami Sefa Kayi. Awuku emphasized the importance of peace and national unity, especially in the face of political tensions.
