The Member of Parliament for Asunafo North, Hon. Haruna Mohammed, has expressed strong confidence in the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s ability to run a scandal-free administration under President John Dramani Mahama.

During an interview on the Angel FM Morning Show with Saddick Adams on July 16, 2025, the NDC Member of Parliament for Asunafo North Hon. Mohammed Haruna, asserted that an NDC government under President Mahama’s anti-corruption measures would complete its first four years without a single corruption scandal. He framed the pledge as a testable standard for governance and urged Ghanaians to compare the records of the two parties over time.

According to the NDC lawmaker, the confidence stems from the robust anti-corruption measures President Mahama is putting in place ahead to curb corruption, particularly with his ministers. He explained that Mahama is committed to holding his appointees accountable and creating a transparent system that leaves no room for misconduct.

“The next NDC government, under John Mahama, will go four years in power without a single corruption scandal,” Haruna stated. “President Mahama is putting in place strict mechanisms to ensure that his appointees do not engage in any corrupt practices. This is unlike what we are seeing under the current administration.”

His comments come in the wake of renewed public concerns over allegations of corruption involving members of the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration. Haruna used the opportunity to draw a sharp contrast between the NPP’s record and what he claims will be the NDC’s new standard for good governance.

He added that under Mahama’s leadership, any official found engaging in corruption will be swiftly dealt with, as part of a renewed commitment to restoring public trust in government.

He said, the NDC is focused on accountability, integrity, and service delivery.
