Man United and Brentford Agree £71M Transfer for Mbeumo

Bryan Mbeumo

Bryan Mbeumo is a forward that Manchester United and Brentford have agreed to sign for a maximum of £71 million, which includes £6 million in performance-related add-ons and an initial £65 million paid in four installments.

The 25-year-old Cameroon international, who finished the previous season with 20 Premier League goals, is anticipated to have a medical in the next few days before traveling to the United States for United’s preseason tour.

Despite interest from Arsenal, Newcastle, and Tottenham, Mbeumo, a top target for manager Ruben Amorim, made it apparent that he would want to move to Old Trafford. After Diego Leon and Matheus Cunha, this is United’s third summer acquisition.

The substantial loss of attacking skill makes it unlikely that Brentford, who turned down previous offers of £55 million and £62.5 million, will sell both Mbeumo and teammate Yoane Wissa.

Only three players scored more goals than Bryan Mbeumo, who helped Brentford finish in the top half of the Premier League last season with 20 goals.

He also recorded seven assists, and could have recorded more. During the season, he recorded a league-high 9.26 anticipated assists, mostly from a table-topping 202 crosses.

He was also one of the league’s hardest grafters, as only two players attempted more sprints or covered more ground during the season. At 36.63 km/h, he recorded the fourth-fastest speed, demonstrating his serious pace.

Brentford gained 22 points, or 40% of the Bees’ season total, thanks to Mbeumo’s 27 goal efforts.
