Peace Hyde Selected As Juror For International Emmy Awards 2025

Peace Hyde, a Ghanaian-British media entrepreneur and television producer, has been formally named as a 2025 International Emmy Award juror. Being one of the few African media professionals on the international judging panel, her appointment represents a major turning point.

On social media, Hyde announced the news and called the honor “divine intervention.”

“It’s OFFICIAL! For the record: This is a GOD THING. Excuse me while I exist in my feelings… One thing’s for sure, two things for certain, I’m doing my BEST & letting God do the REST! I am so excited to be a Juror for the International Emmy Awards 2025. It’s an honour to contribute in selecting the best in television programming from around the world!” she wrote in a post.

The International Emmy Awards, which are presented by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, honor outstanding television shows that are created and first aired outside of the US. Jurors are carefully selected each year from all over the world based on their influence in the industry and professional experience. During the multi-stage adjudication procedure, which is set for September 2025, Hyde’s responsibilities will include assessing, analyzing, and scoring entries.

Hyde joins the jury with a reputation for bringing African stories to a global audience. Hyde is best known for being the creator and executive producer of Netflix’s Young, Famous & African, the first African reality TV series. In addition, she produced the Vice News documentary Inside Nigeria’s Push to End Police Brutality.

Her appointment is seen as a win for African representation in global media leadership, illustrating Hyde’s influence in shaping international television storytelling and standards.
