Victory For Cardi B In $24M Los Angeles Assault Lawsuit

After being held not guilty for assault and battery in a civil action against her, Cardi B has triumphed in Los Angeles.

On Tuesday, September 2, a unanimous jury in the $24 million case filed by a former security guard was ruled against, compelling the rapper to pay any damages.

After the verdict, the mother of three, who was charged with spitting on Emani Ellis and using racial epithets against her in a 2018 incident, intends to file a countersuit.

During her testimony last week, Cardi B, 32, denied a physical altercation, pointing to Ellis’ size and her pregnancy.

She retorted that after the security guard recorded her during a doctor’s appointment when she was expecting her first kid, Kulture, she and Ellis got into a verbal altercation.

Ellis made the dramatic allegation that the rapper had hit her with her fingernail, injuring her cheek. However, an OB-GYN physician at the rapper’s Beverly Hill office testified that they did not see her hit the guard.

In 2020, Ellis filed the initial case against Cardi B.

At the time of the alleged event, which happened at a doctor’s office in Beverly Hills, Cardi B was expecting her first child.

As she left the Los Angeles courtroom earlier in the day, Cardi B retaliated by hurling a marker at a paparazzo who asked her about pregnancy rumors purportedly spread by her estranged husband Offset.

The rapper chastised her after throwing the marker, which she grabbed from a fan with an outstretched arm.
